Abstract
Pb5Ge3O11 is a new very promising ceramic pyroelectric material. We have set the conditions of synthesis and of the sintering process in such a way that the ceramics with partially oriented crystallites was formed with the properties approaching that of the good pyroelectric crystals. We shall present the measurements of the Pb5Ge3O11 ceramic properties relevant to the pyroelectric detector as well as the relative detectivity of the built detector.
