Recent results on surface-induced disorder and surface melting

Abstract

My response to the preceding comment consists of several parts. First o f all. I will emphasize that the systems considered in my review paper¹ are in thermal and chemical equilibrium. Secondly. I briefly summarize the recent experimental results which have been obtained since 1985 when I wrote this paper. Finally, I will also describe new theoretical results for the critical exponent β₁.
