Abstract
Solutions of boundary problems are given for crystals with a different set of optical properties. On the basis of these solutions various methods are suggested to determine the optical parameters, characterizing anistropic properties of substance: birefringence, dichroism and optical activity.
To determine the optical parameters it is proposed to measure the azimuth or the intensity of transmitted light as a function of the incident light azimuth. The analytical expressions are given to evaluate the optical parameters to be used as initial data in computer calculation.
