Electrooptics and electrogyration of ferroelectric Ca₂Pb(C₂H₅CO₂)₆ crystal under smeared phase transition

Abstract

Temperature dependence of birefringence, optical rotatory power and electrooptical coefficient of the DLP crystal were measured over the wide range. Temperature region of smearing for the ferroelectric phase transition was evaluated. Obtained data suggest, that crystals of the DLP group could be regarded as “weak (dilute) ferroelectrics.”
