Abstract
TSC and dielectric measurements were carried out for hot-pressed P (VDF/TFE)-(0.98/0.02) and PVDF samples in the temperature range 20°C – 150°C; X-ray diffraction and IR absorption were measured in order to characterize the foils. Four TSC maxima were attributed to the relaxation in amorphous region (∼40°C), to the dipolar relaxation in the α (∼60°C) and the β (∼80°C) phase, and to the space charge relaxation (dependent on the polarization temperature). Activation energy of the dielectric relaxation (αc) is found to be higher for homopolymer than for copolymer; this confirms the distinct role of defects in the crystalline phase.
