Nucleation on a moving twin boundary

Abstract

Nucleation of a new phase on a moving twin boundary is described. It is shown that the nucleus acts on a twin boundary by a friction force, which is of a viscous type in the single phase region of a phase diagram and has dry and viscous components in a two-phase region.
