Abstract
The influence of defects introduced by r-Co-60 irradiation on the ferroelectric properties of NaNH4S04·2H20 single crystals was studied. Radiation defects were found to decrease the permittivity value, to shift Tc towards lower temperatures and to decrease the energy of ferroelectric ordering in the crystal, similarly as it has been observed in many other ferroelectric crystals. A nonlinear downward shift in Tl vs. the dose of irradiation was also observed.
