PLZT based frequency shifter in a laser heterodyne interferometetr

Abstract

Principles of light propagation in PLZT recently developed for intensity modulation are extended to optical heterodyning. The use of frequency shifter in a Michelson's type He—Ne laser interferometer is demonstrated, a 20 kHz difference frequency and Λ/20 resolution being achieved.
