Abstract

The new, ‘ACMAT’(active materials) database has been created. In the database, information concerning properties and parameters of ferroelectric, piezoelectric, pyroelectric, electrostrictive and related substances has been complited. Data on compounds or solid solutions in form of single crystals, ceramics, composites or thin films have been collected. A record for each substance consists of 9 Boxes, which contain information on chemical composition, preparation technique, crystal structure and phase transition data, dielectric, piezoelectric, pyroelectric, optical parameters, conducting and some thermic and thermodinamic quantities. There is information on application areas and manufactures of materials.

The ACMAT management system runs on any IBM PCs and compatibles, it enables the followig options:

  • – automatic search for compounds and solid solutions with a set properties and any combinations of parameters;

  • – selection of mateials most suitable for specific device applications;

  • – displaying a record in full or brief form and getting a hard copy.

ACMAT has user-friendly menu and help messages, it is easy-to-used.

The ACMAT database can be used by materials researchers, solid state physicists and chemists, and new devices development engineers as well.
