Abstract
Effective dielectric permittivity of a heterogenous composite in which TGS particles are dispersed in PVA matrix has been studied experimentally. When the values of the effective dielectric permittivity for TGS-PVA composite were plotted against the concentration of TGS, it was found that the experimental values were inside of the Hashin-Shtrikman bounds and fitted to the Van Beek theory. However, the shape factor D in the theory was different with each other for different temperatures, suggesting a difference in the phase distribution at different temperatures.
The application of such models to the poled samples shows an appreciable deviation of the dielectric permittivity.
