Abstract

In the 180° ferroelectric domain layer structure of a 6 mm crystal or piezoelectric ceramics, it is possible for a shear-horizontal (SH) surface wave to exist, which is called the ferroelectric domain layer wave (FDLW). In this paper, theoretical analyses show that SH surface wave can also exist in the 180° ferroelectric domain layer structure of two different 6 mm crystals or piezoelectric ceramics, and the FDLW is a special case of the analyzed SH surface wave. Based on our theoretical analyses and numerical calculations, the general existence conditions for FDLW are given.
