Abstract

A new type of extended defects, disordered shear planes resembling the boundaries of perovskite blocks in the ordered layered perovskite-like (Ca2Nb2O7-type) structure, is identified by transmission electron microscopy in (Pb, La)TiO3 solid solutions.
