Abstract
By means of an electrooptic PLZT-Laser-Beam-Modulator, produced by the Latvian Institute of Solid State Physics, inexpensive and interesting demonstrations in an attractive field of modern physics and communication technology, often neglected in school physics, may be done. Experimental setups for measurements of the Kerr transversal quadratic electrooptic effect, for the speed of light and for intensity modulation of a laser beam (transmission of acoustical signals) are discussed.
