Comparison of the laser scanning microscopy for pyroelectric display in real time, with other methods to study domains structure, a review

Pages 25-32 | Published online: 10 Feb 2011

Abstract

The pyroelectric probe technique has been given for many years a spatial resolution of about 1 μm.1 The scanning electron microscope can achieve a higher one.2 The physical properties which are used are different, but the results are often comparable as will be shown by selecting several examples concerning TGS, NaNO2, GASH, etc…, but sometimes different. The use of nematic liquid crystals has recently brought interesting results concerning the observation of domains in real time.3 The review and the discussion will be far from exhausive because of the number of parameters involved in the problem.
