Switching dynamics of ferroelectric domains in NaNO2 studied by nematic liquid crystal decoration method

Abstract

Ferroelectric domain structure in NaNO2 is studied by nematic liquid crystal decoration method. Surfaces parallel and perpendicular to spontaneous polarization are observed. The switching time of spontaneous polarization versus the applied electric field and the corresponding activation field are measured for various thicknesses of the sample.
