DKDP phase front shapes in relation to the sample thermal gradient

Abstract

The competition between the elastic energy and the electrostatic energy induces particular shapes of the phase front at the KD₂PO₄ first order transition. The role of a thermal gradient is studied and especially the orientation of the thermal gradient related to the c ferroelectric axis. Planar and zigzag shapes of the phase front are observed
