Dynamics of ferroelastic twins and internal friction in YBa2Cu3O7-δ

Abstract

Low-frequency (10-20 Hz) internal friction and shear modulus of superconducting YBa2Cu3O7-δ (δ = 0.1) ceramics have been studied at a temperature range from 40 to 1000 K. It is shown that in many cases the internal friction peculiarities were due to dynamics of ferroelastic twins.
