Fluorescence spectrum of calcium orthovanadate doped with samarium

Abstract

The fluorescence spectrum of the high temperature ferroelectric Sm:Ca₃(VO₄)₂ is investigated in this paper. The emission spectrum of this crystal was measured when excited by the 4047 Å or 4790 Å line of a Xenon lamp or by the 3650 Å line of a high pressure mercury vapour lamp. A possible fluorescent application of this material is suggested.
