Abstract

Abstract Thick-films of P bO-GeO 2 system with a full density and a thickness of 60μm were obtained by rapid-quenching. The as-quenched samples are transparent, light yellow and amorphous. The crystallized ones with 28% of c-axis orientation of P b5Ge3O 11 crystal have permittivities of 25–35 at room temperature and spontaneous polarizations of 0.2–0.8μ C/cm2. A pyroelectric detectivity of 107 (cm · Hz1/2/W) is recorded, being eqivalent to that of a commercial infrared sensor.
