Abstract
The composition and temperature dependences of optical phonon modes of Ba2NaNb5 (1−x) Ta5xO15 were studied by the Raman spectroscopy. The ferroelectric phase transitions were investigated by the A1(z) mode at about 278. The ferroelastic phase transitions were investigated by the B2(y) mode at about 32cm−1. As for the composition variation at room temperature the ferroelectric phase transition occurs between x=0.6 and 0.7, and the ferroelastic phase transition occurs at about x=0.9. The temperature dependences of these transition temperatures were also studied.
