Abstract
Low frequency polarized Raman spectra of ferroelastic K3Na(SeO4)2 single crystal was examined in the temperature range from 80 to 360 K. The phase transition 3m → 2/m at TC=334 K is associated with Ag soft phonon mode in ferroelastic phase. Its fre qiency varies as (TC − T)1/3 in very wide temperature range, suggesting a first-order type transition. The existence of another phase transition at T0 = 346 K was confirmed by the vanishing of few modes at this temperature.
