Phase transitions: Glasses and solid solutions

Glass transition temperature studies in decalin cyclohexanone liquid-mixture

Pages 317-322 | Received 31 Oct 1993, Published online: 26 Oct 2011

Abstract

This paper brings out the experimental studies carried out by the author on decalin, a highly viscous, non-polar and glass forming liquid, mixed with cyclohexanone by dielectric method. A coaxial cylindrical dielectric cell was fabricated for this purpose. GR1615A capacitance bridge was used to measure the capacitance from 100Hz to 100KHz. The experiment was performed over a temperature range of 115K-145K. The glass transition temperature Tg of decalin is around 136K.
