Abstract
Molecular motions of PO4 tetrahedra associated with the paraelectric-ferroelectric phase transition in KH2PO4 have been studied by X-ray diffraction. Intensities of the (6, 6, 10) reflection which reflects motions of PO4 tetrahedra, were measured and analyzed based on two models; and order-disorder model of PO4 and a distorted-PO4 model due to hydrogen orderings. It is suggested that PO4 molecules undergo order-disorder motions at the ferroelectric phase transition in KH2PO4.
