Abstract

The effect of the ice rule constraint on the critical diffused scattering from deuterons is theoretically studied in KD2PO4 from the statistical mechanical viewpoint by the 4-cluster approximation. The anisotropic intensity contour in the reciprocal lattice space observed in neutron scattering has been realized in a similar shape. The relation to the controversy on models of phase transition in KDP type ferroelectrics is discussed.
