Pyro- and piezoelectric activity of organic thin films

, , &
Pages 243-248 | Published online: 16 Mar 2011

Pyro- and piezoelectric properties of vacuum evaporated low-molar-mass (LMM) organic thin films are reported. The pyro-(γ/ε) and piezoelectric (d3/ε) figures of merit for LMM-organic thin films are found to be as large as 0.2-1.0 nC/(cm2K) and 0.5-2.5 pC/N, respectively. Some pyro- and piezoelectric thin film device applications are discussed.
