Nano-composition fluctuations in many complex compounds and solid solutions have been observed through TEM. In this work, the interior cause of nano-heterogeneity, nano-phase separation, in Pb(Mg1/3Nb2/3)O3 is discussed using crystal chemistry. The experimental phenomena of the anomalous decrease of phase transition temperature in Pb(Zn1/3Nb2/3)O3-BaTiO3 system, and the disappearance of dielectric frequency dispersion in the solid solutions with high PbTiO3, component are well explained according to the model of nano-phase separation.
