Abstract

The formation of a pyrochlore structure is a major problem in the preparation of Pb(Fe2/3W1/3)O3-PbTiO3 ceramics since its presence is detrimental to the dielectric, and piezoelectric properties. The perovskite structure in PFW-PT can be stabilized by the addition of about 0.25wt%MnO2. The stability of the perovskite phase was studied as a function of sintering temperature. The dielectric, pyroelectric, and piezoelectric properties of compositions in the PFW-PT system are presented. The transition temperature of the compositions in this system increased gradually with the addition of PT.
