Abstract

A theoretical simulation of the dielectric, elastic and piezoelectric properties of porous PZT ceramic was carried out in terms of the finite element method and averaging theory. Based on the definition of a porous PZT ceramic as a three component composite with polarised ceramic elements, nonpolarised ceramic elements and air inclusions, close agreement between the calculated and experimentally measured properties was obtained.
