Abstract
The crystal structure of La(Mg2/3Ta1/3)O3 [LMT] was investigated using X-ray powder diffraction and transmission electron diffraction. These analyses revealed that LMT had a doubled perovskite unit cell and the pseudo-cubi perovskite cell showed monoclinic distortion. It was confirmed that LMT had 1:1 partial ordering in the B-site, although the ratio of Ta5+ to Mg2+ is 1:2. Microwave dielectric properties of LMT measured at 10 GHz showed that LMT would be promising as a new microwave dielectric material since its permittivity and quality factor were high.
