Abstract
Raman scattering, dielectric and optical studies of ferroic states in Cd2Nb2O7 pyrochlore within 77–205 K are presented and discussed. Coexistence of ferroic states of different nature and of a relaxor state in the ferroelectric phase of the compound is ascribed to weak bonding between two networks, (CdO8)n- and (NbO6)n-, in the pyrochlore structure.
