Abstract

As an intermediate stage to understand the electric and structural properties during the transition from glass to crystal, the time dependence of growing mechanism measured using the synchrotron radiation for high statistics is presented for the LiTaO3 polycrystals in the matrix of LiTaO3-SiO2 glass. In the electric measurement of LiTaO3-SiO2 glass with heating, there appears anomalous dielectric effect in the glass phase. From the experiments with changing sample environment, it is found the large increase in dielectric constant is affected by air and the structural relaxation effect of the glass state appears in the dielectric response measured after heat treatment.
