Abstract

Humlum, Ole og Svensson, Harald: Naledi i Grønland. Flyfotografisk inventering af perennerende flod- og kildeis i grønlandske permafrostområder; foreløbige resultater. Geografisk Tidsskrift 82: 51–59. Copenhagen, October 15, 1982.

Preliminary results on the distribution of naledi/icings/aufeis in Greenland are reported. The investigation is based on examination of aerial photographs from three selected areas. Naledi are aboundant in areas with glaciers of the temperate type, while they are rare in areas with cold glaciers.

This paper reports preliminary results on the distribution of naledi/icingsfaufeis in Greenland (fig. 1). The investigation is based on examinations of aerial photographs I:50.000 and I:150.000. Most naledi in Greenland are associated rivers draining glaciers, although some naledi are formed in connection with springs and waterfalls. Naledi are aboundant in areas with glaciers supposed to be of the temperate type (or having at least a temperate glacier sole), while naledi are rare in areas with glaciers supposed to be cold. Of the three areas investigated (fig. 1), naledi are most frequent in the area in East Greenland. Here naledi in July and August covers about 0.1% of the total ice-free area.

Desuden vii vi takke Geodretisk Institut, K0benhavn, som har stillet deres flyfotoarkiv til radighed for vor unders0gelse.
