Pretreatment Quality Control Options

&
Pages 153-157 | Received 08 May 1975, Published online: 08 May 2017

Summary

‘Quality Control’ ranges from the crude method of periodic dumping of process solutions to highly sophisticated complete automatic control systems. The solutions used may or may not be constant in composition, and we indicate the factors affecting composition variation and attempt a quantitative consideration of both the steady and the unsteady conditions. Like the processes themselves, the quality control system needs to be chosen to meet the practical needs of each particular situation. Examples are given of different systems and their sensible application.
