Low bake curing, water thinnable paints: Part I: Character of the paints

&
Pages 88-89 | Received 01 May 1984, Published online: 08 May 2017

Summary

Low bake curing, water thinnable paints have been developed as viable alternatives to conventional organic solvent thinned high bake stoving paints, or two-pack paints, for coating processes such as business machine finishing, which entail the production of durable and aesthetically attractive finishes in smooth or texture form on metal and plastic surfaces. In part I the character of these paints is described. In Part II an account is given of operational experience and of benefits resulting from elimination of use of organic solvents and from energy cost saving via low bake curing.
