Stimulus Duration And Input-Output Function Of The Different Components Of The Slow Auditory Evoked Potential

Abstract

The influence of stimulus duration on the components N₁₂₀ and P₂₀₀ of the slow evoked potential was investigated at durations 5, 20, 50, 100 and 250 msec. A strong effect could be observed up to 50 msec. The results are discussed in relation to physiological and psychoacoustic data. A simplification is proposed which makes the test valuable as a clinical tool.
