This report provides information and summary data for manuscripts submitted, acceptance rates and review times for 1st January 2012–31st December 2012. For 2010–2011 data, please see http://www.tandfonline.com/doi/abs/10.1080/00207160.2012.681451.
All submissions to IJCM are processed via ScholarOne Manuscripts at http://mc.manuscriptcentral.com/gcom.
Submissions received
The term original refers to first submissions, and therefore submissions of revised papers are not counted in the table above.
31 papers originally submitted in 2012 are still awaiting a first decision (as of 1st October 2013).
IJCM screens papers for originality using the CrossCheck{\texttrademark} software.
Review process and acceptance rate
All papers received are subject to an initial review by the Editor-in-Chief assigned. This initial review is crucial in allowing us to handle the volume of submissions received and ensures a quick decision for the author(s), enabling them to submit their work elsewhere should it not be appropriate for IJCM. Papers are then assigned to an Associate Editor (who will be a member of the Editorial Board) for further review. The Associate Editor may recommend that the paper is rejected, revised for further consideration, or select independent referees to assess the paper further.
For 2012, the median time from original submission to a first decision for all papers was 34 days. For papers assigned to an Editor for further review, the median time to a first decision was 72 days.
The acceptance rate in 2012 was 22%. For papers accepted in 2012, the median time from original submission to acceptance (including time with the author for review) was 200 days.
We are very grateful to the members of the editorial board and referees for the valuable editorial assistance they provide in the review process for IJCM. Further details of referees for 2012 have been published in:
