Possibilities of constructing two dimensional pictures in DNA computing: Part II

Pages 1-20 | Received 15 Nov 2004, Published online: 25 Jan 2007

Abstract

This article illustrates the possibilities of constructing and recognizing two-dimensional pictures with DNA strands based on an existing tiling system. An equivalent DNA system, which performs tile attachments based on single contextual insertion with deletion precedence, is proposed for this system. This approach is then extended to the Wang tile and domino tile systems. This shows the ability of DNA systems to construct two-dimensional pictures via transposition operations.
