Ring-to-line mapping and orientation invariant transform for Chinese seal character recognition

Abstract

The ring-to-line mapping technique is used to map an object image to straight-line signals. The vector magnitude invariant transform technique is used to transfer the object signal to an invariant vector magnitude quantity for object identification. Use of this transform technique allows the image rotation problem to be solved. Vertical magnitude quantity strips are generated to cope with the image-shifting problem. The algorithm developed can classify the object image precisely.
