Abstract

The family of all bifix codes is an important family of codes. A bifix code is a prefix code which is also a suffix code. In this paper we split the family of all bifix codes into three subfamilies, which are the family of all comma-codes, the family of all comma-free codes and the family of all strict intercodes of index m, m≥2. We study some combinatorial properties of them.
