Abstract

This paper presents a unified framework for program optimization which subsumes (i) Loop invariant code motion, (ii) Common subexpression elimination, and (iii) Strength reduction. Use of this framework is shown to eliminate the control flow analysis costs and to widen the scope of conventional strength reduction.
