A note on the paper by cohen and gismalla on quadrature formulae for symmetric integrands

Pages 207-209 | Received 01 Sep 1985, Published online: 19 Mar 2007

Abstract

Cohen and Gismalla present third degree quadrature formulae which become seventh degree formulae when the integrand f(x y) is symmetric i.e. f(x y) = f(y x). It is shown here that with a suitable choice of the parameters the quadrature formulae can be made to be fifth degree for general functions.
