The numerical solution of problems involving singularities by the finite element method

Abstract

In this paper, the authors demonstrate the effectiveness of mesh refinement techniques in the finite element solution of a variety of physical and engineering problems involving boundary singularities

The results obtained are shown to compare favourably to alternative techniques.
