A numerical study of some modified versions of controlled random search method for global optimization

Abstract

In this paper we have considered the feasibility of improving the efficiency and reliability of the Controlled Random Search Method of Price [12] by introducing certain modifications in their original version. Four modified versions of the algorithm have been considered and a numerical study undertaken on a set of standard test examples to ascertain their reliability and efficiency. Certain conclusions based on the present study are also reported.
