A composite hopscotch method of increased accuracy

Abstract

Recently Evans and Danaee (1982) developed a new block hopscotch algorithm for the efficient solution of time dependent partial differential equations. In this paper it is shown that by a judicious combination of both point and block hopscotch algorithms, a composite hopscotch method of greater accuracy comparable to the Crank-Nicolson method can be obtained.
