An automatic procedure for the solution of fourth order differential equations by chebyshev polynomials

Abstract

In this paper, a computational scheme is presented for the solution of fourth order differential equations by Chebyshev polynomials. Problems can be solved automatically by inputting the relevant coefficients of the differential equation and on scanning a recurrence tableau, the recurrence relations between the Chebyshev coefficients is obtained from which the numerical solution is derived. Sufficient examples are given to display the flexibility of the method.
