Abstract

There are many different theories that explain the depth percept. These methods can be classified into three main groups, stereo-disparity, optic flow and accommodation cues. The work here depends on the stereo-scopic method.

The brain is capable of perceiving depth due to the position of the two eyes. The relative position of the images formed in the two eyes will be different and the amount of this difference is translated into depth in the brain.
