Abstract

An analysis for evaluating the performance of stack space allocation and utilization is presented. The analysis is based on the random walk model for studying the relationship between stack overflow and allocated space. Mathematical formulas are derived to represent the analyzed results. According to the results, the probability of stack overflow after stack space has been allocated can readily be determined. TheReference:ore, it is possible to allocate suitable size to stacks and make their use more effective and efficient without wasting storage resources.
