Abstract

In this paper the solution of the Navier Stokes equations in the layer of atmosphere close to the earth's surface, i.e., the planetary boundary layer model is obtained for the steady state by the Alternating Group Explicit (AGE) method (Evans, 1985). This involves the solution of a block symmetric linear system. A convergence analysis of the AGE-ID method when applied to such systems is also given.
