Abstract
The most versatile circuit arrangement for actuating the jump phenomenon in the oscillating linear motors so as to control the amplitude of oscillations of the ring seems to be the transformer-coupled trigger circuit. This paper deals with the prediction of the transient characteristics of the ferro-resonant jump phenomenon in mutually coupled non-linear L.C.R. circuits. Since a direct analytical solution appears to be improbable, use is made of the integral curves for 'open-circuit' and 'short-circuit' conditions of the configuration. The circuits investigated are of the transformer type with either inductance alone on the secondary side or with inductance, resistance and a voltage source in series. The phase and switching angle of the voltage source can be varied with respect to the primary supply.
