A note on multigrade z transforms

Pages 65-69 | Received 18 Jul 1973, Published online: 22 Oct 2007

Abstract

Example is given to reveal that the conventional formula for multigrade z-transform yields erroneous results if the transfer function of the system contains time delays equal or greater than the sampling interval T/N. A general expression for correct answers is developed. This expression is also applicable to linear sample-data system containing time delays that are integer multiples of the basic sampling interval T.
